Here we have Bob Clampett's scathing indictment of network executives, television sponsors, and TV's insipidness all cloaked in the aura of an innocent children's cartoon. Everything about Beany and Cecil works for me. The animation is great, the drawings are funny, the vocal performances are remarkable, the writing is subversive, and a lot of the jokes aren't just funny, they're down right weird. This is one of the all time best B&C installments.
