The Mighty Hercules (1963)

Another of the legendary bad cartoons, this show inevitably came on at the earliest hours of the broadcasting day. Most remember it best for the theme song sung by Johnny Nash and it is one of the few cartoons that is simultaneously scary and crappy. Whenever I saw this show as a child, something about it gave me a weird feeling, as if this cartoon had come from the moon. Director Joe Orilio and Trans-Lux also made the unbearable Felix the Cat cartoon of this era. CBC Radio personality Jimmy Tapp supplied the voice of our hero and DC Comics writers George Kashdan and Jack E. Miller scripted most episodes.
