We're celebrating Filmation's assembly line of dreck this week. Mission: Magic! was one of the strangest Saturday morning conceptions ever. It starred rock star Rick Springfield as himself. Springfield was chosen by ABC who had polled various teen magazines to try and find out which person young folk thought was going to be the next big star. Rick Springfield was the answer, and ABC hoped this show would be as successful as The Jackson Five cartoon had been for Rankin-Bass. Weird stuff.
