Geisel (aka Seuss) got his first big-time fame as artist in the "Quick, Henry -- the Flit!" campaign, and his propaganda work for Uncle Sam ("Private SNAFU") was kind of like ads in a way, and like his political cartoons in PM in another.
Freelance writer. Regular contributor to WFMU's Beware of the Blog and CBC Radio. Used to do a zine called Generation Exploitation. Still do a podcast called Generation Exploitation. Watch a lot of old cartoons and Turner Classic Movies. Also work as a not-freelance social worker in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
