Boy, talk sbout pointless! :-) I'd take the ALVIN SHOW for 5 trillion, Mr.Fleming or Mr.Trebeck, depending on one's era! Betty and Veronica as BEST FRIENDS, or even friends? Even more pointless than:
---Pixie and Dixie and Mister Jinksy
---Tweety and Sylvester
---Tom and Jerry
---Herman and Katnip
---Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd
---Herman and Katnip
..all as friends.[And that happened more than once with the above..in comics and cartoons..]
Or
---Bugs or Speedy and Daffy becoming enemioes. And poor REGGIE! What HAPPENED to this guy? The brute becomes ONE Of the gang..but I don't hold this against a few of the songs or against the comic verison of the whole franchise, in general.
