Spiderman (1967-70) The Original Background Music!

I, just like anybody else who has ever seen the late sixties Spiderman cartoon, have always been a big big fan of that series' music. Over the years I discovered that there were a lot of people out there just like me who put tape recorders to their TV to capture the great music playing in the background. Well, I recently stumbled across the masters to the music from the 2nd and 3rd seasons. All the music came from the KPM Music library in England. I put together a podcast today that sets the original muddy sounds that played beneath the original Spiderman cartoon next to these recently discovered, crystal clear sounding masters. Dig it: The Spiderman Background Music Podcast!

It's actually "needle-drop", not "pin-drop"... as in the needle on a turntable. ;)

On another note, a couple of years ago I rescued a lot of production music on vinyl that was being given away (read, "Does anybody want all these old records before we throw them out?") Every so often, going through them, I'll uncover a track that I recognize from some long-ago use.

Yes, you're right. Too late to change it now. Ah, well.

Not only am I thankful for the podcast, I'm also thankful for your screen captures, as they make great wallpaper!

Hi Kliph,

Just like you, when I was younger, I would take my portable tape recorder and record the music from the Spiderman cartoon from my TV. For years I have tried to obtain recordings of this music, but, with little information, I was never able to track it down. Out of frustration, I had decided to recreate about 20 of the pieces myself. I am a guitarist and I dabble in other instruments as well. Prior to the DVD set release, I had learned a lot of the parts and would play them against the show. The DVD release afforded me some control and set me up to do the recordings. My equipment is very limited and I play everything myself with the exception of some on-board drum beats. On a couple of occasions I have recorded little loops from the original recordings for things that I couldn't reproduce with my equipment. I have tried to make these recordings as faithful to the original sounds and arrangements as possible. If you remember the show, Space Giants, I have reproduced 6 pieces from that show as well including the cool jazzy American opening theme. You are welcome to these recordings - all I ask for in return is if you can point me to the distributions of these original recordings so that I can get copies for myself.
